Guests for Dinner

Tonight I made meal that is often reserved for guests. You know, those special people that you reserve your more time consuming recipes for. Our menu included Cajun chicken kabobs, homemade au gratin potatoes, and the first sweet corn from our first garden.
When Emily saw me assembling the kabobs her reply was, "Wow, we're having a real barbeque." I guess that's what it looked like to her. I then did something a bit out of the ordinary and decided to place our raspberry lemonade in one of my fancier pitchers.

She then said, "Why are we using that? We aren't even having guests for dinner." I kind of muttered, "You are my guests." This got me thinking. Maybe if I were to think of this each night when I am trying to get a meal on the table for dinner, it might not seem like such drudgery. After all, these are my most precious guests!

Oh, that's such a sweet post about your precious "guests" for dinner. It's a good way to think of it!

P.S. We peaked at your garden this weekend. It looks great!

I really like your thoughts. I like to try to make things special when I have our "kids" over for
dinner, too! I want them to enjoy not having to make a meal or clean up after it,...a little mini vacation!
